The catalyst is designed for the steam conversion of natural gas in tubular furnaces for the production of ammonia, methanol and hydrogen. The catalyst is a promoted nickel oxide deposited on heat-resistant porous corundum spherical granules with seven channels. The unique shape of the catalyst granules makes it possible to significantly reduce the pressure drop in the tubular furnace, reduce the temperature of the pipes, and increase the load on natural gas. The catalyst is easily filled into the reaction tubes, forming the most homogeneous layer that promotes heat and mass transfer. The catalyst layer moves easily, like a liquid, when the pipes are thermally constricted during cooling.
